to reduce "brown off" and watering maintenance
with newly planted sod, sprigs and seeding.
Application
Broadcast
Horta-SorbŪ MD at the rate of 3-5 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft.
With sprigging and seeding, work into the first 1"
of soil with a till or by chain drag. If conditions
are extreme from a watering standpoint you may double, or
even triple the rate so long as for every 3 lbs. per thousand
square feet you incorporate the product 2 inches of soil
depth, i.e., you could apply 3X the normal rate so long
as the 9 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. was incorporated in six
inches. With sod, simply lay sod on top of treated
area without the need for tilling at the 3 lb. per 1,000
sq. ft. rate. When seeding use Horta-SorbŪ SC
to promote faster and better germination rates at the rate
of 1 lb. per 100 lbs. of seed. Simply mix Horta-SorbŪ
SC with the seed in the hopper box. No tackers
or stickers are necessary.
(Be
sure that on the first watering a nutrient is used, either
liquid or dry, so that the water/nutrient solution is the
first liquid that the Horta-SorbŪ takes in.
The first liquid absorbed is better managed whatever
is used).

Horta-SorbŪ MD at the rate of 1 lb. per 100 sq. ft. and
work into the earth 4-6 inches deep. Plant as usual.
Note:
As you are preparing the bed, incorporate fertilizers (at
the manufacturers recommended rate) as well. If you
do this, on the first watering of the bed the Horta-SorbŪ
MD will absorb the fertilizer as it becomes soluble and
result in a better managed release of the fertilizer over a long period
of time.
